Welcome to our Christmas 2008 newsletter and wine list.
We have a really full offering for you. As this is our first full newsletter since Summer there are quite a few offers we have been running, several others have come and gone so please sign up to our email list to keep up to date.
We have our largest range of mixed cases ever, and have spent a huge amount of time putting these together. Whether buying for yourself, a corporate gift or present, these really are full of top quality, interesting wines at discounted rates. Whilst it is tempting especially in these difficult times to put in bin ends, discounted parcels etc, we have not. Quality always will be paramount here.

This brings me on to the subject of special offers. I have seen many which are, quite frankly scandalous at big named chain stores, having an overly inflated bottle price to do a 3 bottles for the price of 2 promotions etc. This practice really should be stopped. As should (and of course as a relatively small business I would say this!) the practice of loss leading. We only have one shot and that is to sell you wine and associated alcoholic beverages! You will never see spurious offers at NYW.
What I think is crucially important in these extremely awkward times is to support your independents. If all we do is buy on price and further fill the coffers of these superstores we will ultimately limit choice. I have for a long time tried to buy as much as possible from the local butcher, the local farm shop etc, not only is the produce way better, and often it’s less expensive. Anyhow rant over; I am sure all our customers are like this anyhow.
Hopefully Christmas will serve as a time to cheer us up, have some great wine and food with special people. We have some exceptional wines within these pages, and very much look forward to being of service. Remember our big Christmas tasting on the 25th November; not only 80+ wines, but glassware and giftware will be on show.
We are well geared up to deal with corporate business, so whether you want to send out 5 bottles or 5000 gift packs please do give us a call.
As ever at this time of year I would like to thank those of you that have supported us, and those that have not or are unlikely too for whatever reason please let us know as it costs us £30+ a year to keep you on this mailing list!!!
