The wines from Cantine Leonardo have been remarkably consistent and fairly priced over the years. The new 2009 is cast very much in the same mould as its forerunners.
The packaging is better than it was a few years back and makes it look more similar to the more premium wines in the Leonardo stable. Ruby red in the glass with violet, cherry and soft leather nose. It's medium bodied with more cherry fruit and well balanced acidity. Fairly text book Chianti really.
